Buccaneers fans may love wide receiver Scotty Miller and what he brings to the table. His touchdown catch against Green Bay was one of the best moments in franchise history.
But even moments as great as a playoff miracle aren’t enough to keep guys on teams like the Bucs forever.
Miller is a decent Buccaneers contributor in danger of not being on the roster this fall receiver with good speed for the modern game, but that means little when every one of his competitors on the roster brings what he does and more.
Let’s look at Tampa’s wide receiver depth chart as it stands:
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Russell Gage are the starters. There is nothing on the planet that will get these guys out of the top spots going forward. The depth has a bit more flexibility, but there are still a few sure names there as well.
Tyler Johnson and Jaelon Darden also aren’t going anywhere. Johnson has a decent upside after two seasons, but Tampa’s coaches have been clear in the past that they expect more from him. Still, the talent is there, and the Bucs like Johnson as a depth option with reliability.
