Buccaneers HC Bruce Arians pissed about offensive performance

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kick off preseason on Saturday and head coach Bruce Arians is less than pleased with the performance of his offense.

In a post-practice press conference, Arians called it the worst offensive practice in three years, citing dropped passes and missed assignments. “Kind of a pattern of behavior now. After a day off, our offense just stinks. They’ve got to break that habit.”

In typical Arians style, his assessment was blunt when asked how to buck the trend.

“Well, back in the day we’d be out here running the shit out of them, but that don’t work anymore,” Arians said. “You go to jail for that stuff now. They’ve just got to grow up and man up. It’s been identified so they’ve got to fix it. I’m not going to fix it, you’ve got to fix it.”

For the Buccaneers defense, it was a different story, as Arians noted Monday’s practice was one of the best “start-to-finish.”

“Defensively, they answered the bell,” he said. “They came out and dominated the entire practice. It was good to see.”

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Cincinnati Bengals at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 7:30 p.m. eastern.
